Hello all; I have posted sporadically on the Omega board over the last couple of years. I recently obtained an Oris Miles Jazz Day Date with steel bracelet. You might think me crazy, but I traded in an Omega SMP (mid-size). The Omega was an excellent watch, but everyone is wearing a dive watch these days (I see the more popular watch in this forum is the TT1). The Miles Jazz is unique. Very different and top quality. The Omega finish was a smidge better, with more detail, but all in all I am very happy with the Miles. It hasn't been off my wrist since I got it 2 weeeks ago. I was surprised to see how massive tnis watch is for a rectangular. I got the smaller size and it is still large. The fit & finish of the bracelet is excellent! I am guaging the accuracy & it seems to be 3-5 minutes fast per day. This is a bit off from the Omega, which was my most accurate watch (I also own Omega Speedmaster & Omega Constellation pie pan dial). I'll try to get some pics posted. Thanks for hearing me out!
Cheers; Buster

Hi Buster. Congrats on your new watch. Can't wait to see the pix. As for swapping an SMP for an Oris, that's not nuts if you wanted the watch. The Miles Davis is interesting and has a nice design. It's refreshing in this era of dive watches, as you so rightly note. You'll get used to the larger size. Then a midsize like your Omega will seem down-right dinky. (Though I prefer smaller watches myself). I have had that shock when I took off a 42 mm diver for a 36-39mm dress watch. Your Oris is probably just breaking in. It should do way better than 3-5 minutes a day. Oris has an exceptional reputation for reliability and accuracy. Just give it a couple weeks. Welcome to WTF and congrats again. Don't forget the pix.
