Don't tell Mark cause we were talking about staying new watch free for the entire month of June. But I fell off the wagon already. I just purchased a Big Crown Pointer date at SNBC for $509, including a $50 off coupon. It will arrive by June 12. I'm very interested. I've been wanting an Oris for a long time. This was an offer I couldn't refuse. Plus, if I don't like it, easy return. I'll post a review when it arrives. I'm grinning!

Glad I ordered. Just went back to review some specs on the watch - and it's sold out already. The watch only lasted two hours as far as I can tell. Amazing. This brand must be fantastic. Now I really can't wait to get it.

That's a beauty! And at a great price.

Enjoy the watch...Oris are a wonderful watches...you stole that one. Well, with the extent of my watch habit I have to try to buy at good to exceptional pricing. Doesn't always work that way (lol), but I'm patient since I never really NEED another watch.

Well, this arrived today - and went back today. This is a very decent watch. I wasn't crazy about the dial work. Actually, it is one of the rare watches that look nicer in the photo than in real life. I didn't hate it - I just didn't love it. Good bracelet, nice movement (modified ETA 2824-2). Good fit and finish. Certainly worth the price. But I have other watches in the same price range I like better, so there was no sense in keeping it. I had a similar reaction to a Jacques Lemans Swiss Made (Geneve) Big Day Automatic watch. Got it and sent it back the same day, too. It just didn't do it for me. In the past, I would've kept both watches. But I have so many timepieces I have decided I must consider a watch exceptional - in some way - to give it a home. The Oris was good. Nice. Can't really say a bad word about it. But it didn't work for me.

I think the tipping point for me was the ETA 2824 movement. While modified by Oris, I have so many watches with that movement (including my Tudor Sub and a ton of Invictas etc.) I thought: Why get another one? Especially since the dial didn't really sing to me. I can't say the Oris was bland - the Jacques Lemans was a bit - is was just underwhelmed I suppose since I think I expected more based on all the chatter, etc. Again, there was nothing wrong with the watch at all. I just don't know that is was a fanastic value - I have Edox and Jacques Lemans watchs (at the same price point) that are all Swiss made and just as nicely decorated and manufactured. I kept comparing the Oris to a COSC Edox I bought NIB from SNBC with a 2892 movement/date complication with all papers for $470, not counting the coupon. That watch was a true bargain and exceptional value. I just picked up another one for $340 NIB with papers!!!!! Oris is a nicely made brand. But I wouldn't say it is superior to Tissot or the other Swiss makes in the same price range. And, frankly, I don't know if it offers superior value to these other brands, either. My reaction was : blah. But maybe I'm just in a mood. Good luck on your hunt, Mike.

Hey guys, Thanks for thinking about me, Zin, but Dan is right, I was after bigger fish. I even put my Omega Seamaster GMT desires on hold. Had a chance to buy an Oris TT1 Worldtimer for $1000, NIB...all in all, quite an attractive price. But to do it, I had to sell my 1 month old XXL Worldtimer, immediately. Deal fell through but no problem...my Oris does speak to me, unlike falling on Dan's deaf ears. Hey Dan, while on the topic...don't hold back, man..tell us what you really thought about the Oris pointer date! Take care, Pat
