reflections, that along with digital noise. i think i might have the ISO thing figured out thanks to CopyCat. reflections and light, i'm working on it though, do you guys use polarizing filters? thanks John, when i know what to ask, i will i want to get half as good as some of you folks ;D @pacifictom, and CopyC, i looked at the SD1000 yesterday, WoW that thing is small! i was having a hard time trying to figure out how to hold it. it sure is impressive though, i may get it... does the battery hold a charge for lots of pics? thanks, both of you diver88 ;D ;D ;D What are polarized filters? Do they prevent reflections?? Mr. diver88, i can't tell you exactly how many pictures the SD1000 will take before the battery needs to be recharged. Generally, Canon's batteries are not the best of the bunch - but i'm still very satisfied with the SD1000. It is a small camera, and thats one of the reasons why i bought it. I don't have any trouble handling it - so it's fine with me I believe i once saw an overview of the battery performance on the SD1000- i will see if i can find it.

bought a new Canon last night, CC.. i didn't realize before, yours takes the LI-ION rechargeable. the IS model i bought with an underwater housing last night uses the AA batteries.... after holding the SD1000, i was afraid it was too small for me to hold on to. i've got big hands you see, i wear a size 14ring and XXl gloves... maybe i'll be able to get some underwater shots and video now better than i could with my old 35mm U/W set up thanks diver88 ;D ;D ;D BTW, the polarizing filters i think help with reflections and glass, non metallic is what i saw. i wondered if any of the pros around here use them, it sounds cool if they don't create other issues
