I've added an overhead clip-on lamp to my two 500W work lights on both sides of my tent. Here are a few shots I took today of my latest vintage - - a 1940s Gruen Curvex in solid 14K rose gold. It features coin-edge ("Zippo") lugs and a genuine Curvex 440 movement.

Excellent shots! It's a great looking watch, a great vintage piece, and pretty rare nowadays. The movement also looks pretty pristine; has this been restored at one point? Or is it entirely original?

...has this been restored at one point? Or is it entirely original? Not sure...I picked it up recently on eBay from a newbie seller. My guess is it's a redial, though.

the photos look great. how bright is the light you added on top? did the light fill in shadow or just brighten everything up? trying to learn how to do this, it looks like the afternoon sun shining in on the books that watch is really a beauty also, thanks for sharing diver88

The books are also inside my light tent and get light only from my lamps. Here's my setup exluding the clip-on overhead lamp:

Nice shots Tom - that curved crystal must give you fits when trying to photograph it.

Nice shots Tom - that curved crystal must give you fits when trying to photograph it. You're right on that, John. Even worse (for me) are domed crystals - - they seem to pick up all light sources in their frontal hemisphere.
