My dad had a Nikon D70, and then decided he wanted the latest model, so he gave me the D70 and a few lenses. After using it for a bit, the shutter started sticking open and you had to press the button to make it reset. I searched the web and finally found an obscure reference to the problem and a link to the Nikon site with a service bulletin about the problem on a few D series cameras.
So, we took the camera to the camera shop and they printed up the servce form off of Nikons site and shipped it back for us...a month without it will be difficult, but better to have it fixed I guess.
So until then its just me and my little Nikon point-shoot...it does a pretty good job on its own so no big deal.
Anyways, if you have a D series with that problem, it is known to Nikon and they will repair it free of charge.
