I think I'm pretty happy with how they are coming out now. Comments?

Pretty nice Jim! Can we see a photo of your set up, and can you tell us about some of the tweaks you've made?

Pretty nice Jim! Can we see a photo of your set up, and can you tell us about some of the tweaks you've made? Thanks John. Last year I built my own booth that's 3' X 3' because I wanted a lot of interior space. At the time I used four 500w halogens. I just added a few extra lights for more flexibility is all. 2 smaller spiral flourescents. I have them now mounted above my booth that made a big difference. My booth is gigantic so you need a LOT of light to make it all the way inside.

I also used to use 4 halogens, but found them to be a bit harsh. I've backed it down to 2, but I've got desk lamps clipped all around with spiral "daylight temperature" floresents. I'd still be very interested to see a photo of your set up. Here's a bad shot of mine - prior to reducing the number of halogens:

Hey John,
Nice looking setup.. It looks like you have some acrylic watch stands on the inside right side. Do they rotate? I've seem some that can be rotated so you can stand the watch at any angle, but I can't seem to find them for sale. If yours do, any idea where they can be picked up?

The ones I have are CRAP that I ordered off eBay...they don't work well at all unfortunately, and don't rotate.

Man, you guys are the biz. I know nothing beyond my Canon Digital Ixus 500, my trusty Leitz TiltAll tripod and some sheets of white A4 as reflective material and occasionally my low-energy light bulbs ;D ;D ;D Heck I can't even get my Photoshop Elements to work Hate these things with learning curves. I'll take iPhoto anyday. Cheers pals ZIN

They're made of frosted acrylic (non-rotating) and offer a very different perspective of the watch...about $20.00 each shipped from U.K. by "boxdisplays" on eBay.

Tom - let me know what kind of results you get with those. Similar models I've purchased in the past have been EXTREMELY fragile and prone to "snapping."
