Hi, I am new to this board and new to Invicta watches. (I am completely confused by a few things (not excluding references to cheese?) Thats not why I am writing. I desire to purchase a mechanical watch and start a bit of a modest Invicta collection. Right now the one I really want is out of question. But I am looking at a model 7000 or 7001. But I am completely lost and sales people don't seem to know the simple answer to this... Are these mechanical? Do they need winding? Do they have a battery? If they do have batteries, I don't want it obviously. But I do want a Russian Diver. Any suggestions? Which one is more in my price range, any? (sub $300 right now) Regards, Scott Sorry if this is obvious, but I can't tell.

Hi Scott and welcome to the Original Invicta Forum. You have come to the right place. I think the 7000 series Russian Divers are Signature Collection items and are quartz with battery. The higher end RD's have Unitas Swiss mechanical movements and those watches are considerably more expensive. Depending on your budget, I would suggest you start with the 8926, the 40 mm Orignal Pro Diver with a 21 jewel Miyota mechanical automatic movement for about 100 bucks. For triple the money, you can get a new Pro Diver at about 43 mm with a SW200 Swiss mechanical automatic movement that has 26 jewels. Or it you are looking for a big watch, check out the Ocean Ghost series at 47 mm and the price may vary depending on whether you get a Japanese or Swiss automatic. Check out www.invictawatch.com where you can see the current catalogs of watches and check out our four Invicta sponsors to see what they have to offer. Just click on their banners at the top of this page.
