Sounds like an election coverage show, eh? Anyway, I digress. . .
Did you ever order a watch and then before it ships, change your mind?
How come?
Or, in my case, I ordered a Prowler in sstl and figured I would ponder it for a few days. Guess what, just as I went to cancel the order, I was notified that it had shipped. And, to make matters worse, it arrived TODAY and it is drop-dead gorgeous. What is poor Rusty (I mean that "literally) to do? Help!

Oh yeah! But only with Invictas since I developed my love/hate thing with the brand. I just went through that with Invicta's Higher Priced Cheese Spread (aka Reserve) No Bling Meteorite. I ordered. Cancelled. Ordered. Cancelled. Ordered. Then WAS cancelled (over sold notice), then one popped up and I ordered again. In this case is was trying to stick to my principles. But watch lust won.
I have done it before - an order and cancel - but generally on spur of the moment purchases (all Invictas). I cancel because I rethink my collection or the price. Or the look. Sometimes I decide I just don't like it.
As for your new Prowler, congrats! I think. Just make sure you really, really like it. Or send it back tomorrow. If you don't, you're a goner. I've become quite ruthless with that. If I'm on the cusp the day it arrives, it goes away the next day. Sometimes that very night since my post office has this nifty 24/7 shipping center.

It's happened to me 4 or 5 times. I did it because I either saw something else I liked more or I realized I couldn't afford another watch. I can recall having done that done that with an Invicta or two and a Corvette watch.

It is a Prowler chronograph, not the automatic. But it is still a striking watch. I originally ordered a blue/gold version for less money but I cancelled that order when the sstl version became available. Like I said, Indecision 2007.
The watch is gorgeous but here is my REAL problem. (I have to whisper here so Mrs. Youknowwho doesn't hear me). I was going to cancel the Prowler because on Thanksgiving, I got a line on a great deal on an Accutron VX200 with ETA 2824 movement and black/red bezel for 249 bucks. That deal is a no-cancel and it is in transit as I type this confession. . . er, I mean, posting.
I was pretty determined that my watch buying was done for some time and now I feel like I have two girlfriends and they are about to know about the other one any time now.
If you don't hear from me over the next few days, please start dragging Lake Ontario. boscoe can have my 40mm Invictas and markdl will get my over 45mm Invictas. Wilf, since you don't have a Speedway, I'll have that one sent to you. Oh, and Foghorn gets my Russian Diver to keep HIS Russian Diver company on those cold New England nights.
I, Rusty, being of sound mind and body . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ...

Sorry Auto', the boxes are going to a non-profit group here in the Flower City to build a school for unwed watch collectors.

Rusty, Now that you have the Prowler and you KNOW it is too nice to part with just take the rap. The Missus will get over it and especially if you promise no more watches for a long w2hile. The deal is to act really excited about both purchases and explain that it really isn't your fault. I mean you did try to do the right thing........

I've sent so much stuff back that I wonder if ShopNBC is eventually going to say, "sorry, but we're done with you." Let's see... Grand Diver, Grand Lupah, Ocean Ghost MOP Pro Diver, Mechanical Skeleton, 1948 Vintage... I'm sure I've left something out. I like the pretty face, but then I realize I have to face them in the morning, so off they go. I adhere to the BoZkOE school of collecting: ruthlessness. And I'm getting leaner and meaner with my collection.

Rusty, the "sound mind" part of your will doesn't apply... to any watch guy.

I believe that I may very well be the King of Kancellations. I have ordered and cancelled more than actually bought at a ration of aprox. 20-1 I'll go to the site, browse, get curious, say "what the heck why not" and hit the buy button. Generally I come to my senses within 24 hours and undo the whole thing. Once I went to my account to cancel before the order was even showing!! And Congrats on the Prowler Rusty. If the Mrs. finds out I have an extra room down here. The rent is payable in cheese!!
