Is there a huge difference between the 9937 and 8836 as far as case bracelet and quality? I know the movements are different, but is the 9937 really worth $200 more than the 8836?
TIA Dave

Do you mean the 8926 (Stainless Steel, black face, Submariner style)?
I can't find an "8836" anywhere.
Dave.

I purchased an 8926 w/coin bezel and I am quite happy with it. I will also be qcquiring a 9937 later in 2005.

I was sold on the 8926 before the 9937 was issued. Then I foind JHB's review of the 2 and IMHO the 9937 is worth the extra $$. Here's what sold me on the upgrade: 1. Solid End Links attached with screws to the case (minor detail but for some reason I love it) 2. Saphire crystal, had mine for 2 years now and not a trace of wear on the crystal 3. ETA movement 4. Better clasp 5. This really didn't matter to me but it was a pleasant surprise... the presentation box of the 9937... really unique for a $300 watch

There is no comparison.
The 8926 feels like a $300 watch that you only pay $90 for. GREAT value, great watch.
The 9937 is a $300 watch that feels like a $1500 watch in every way. You simply cannot compare the two.
Good luck. I've owned both Swiss and Japanese Invicta Pro Divers and must say I do prefer the Swiss ETA 2824 driven Pro Divers over the Miyotas.
