In my opinion it is a sales piece. Is it okay to have an opinion that varies from yours? Did I degrade his work? ShopNBC, fined for consumer fraud a few years ago, the largest purveyor of Invicta watches and he does not make any money off of them? Are you kidding me?

In my opinion it is a sales piece. Is it okay to have an opinion that varies from yours? Did I degrade his work? ShopNBC, fined for consumer fraud a few years ago, the largest purveyor of Invicta watches and he does not make any money off of them? Are you kidding me? Your welcome to your opinion, but if that opinion unnecessarily tears down the work of another member of this community (and you're skirting the line) then your not welcome to express that opinion here. Jim put a lot of hard work in putting together some fantastic photos, and great information that's not available anywhere else. Jim works for ShopNBC, not Invicta. Invicta is one of hundreds, if not thousands of product brands that ShopNBC sells. Jim doesn't receive compensation directly from Invicta. Incidentally, I'm not the world's biggest fan of ShopNBC. I'd much rather see our forum members doing business with independent Invicta dealers, like those that support WTF. I'm not surprised that they've been fined for consumer fraud...but I'm betting the list of "large" retailers who have been similarly fined is as exclusive a club as the phone book. I'm sorry if my stance on this issue seems harsh, but we want to maintain a very positive, supportive, and pleasant community. I don't want you to feel as though we're telling you can't have an opinion, but we're just asking you to be sensitive to the feelings of others and use discretion as to expressing that opinion. I'm particularly sensitive to what Jim's going through. As a journalist in the watch industries, the work I do for IW Magazine, as well as my web work is often maligned in much the same way. Many have said I'm on the Invicta payroll too...and I've never seen one red cent from Invicta. In the end, I suggest if Jim's work bothers you that much, simply don't read it. There's plenty of other things to talk about right? John

Opinions are always welcome and enjoyed to the extent they are not loaded to stir a debate to cause a emotional stir.
Jim's piece is a insightful look into a product that he was able to get a prototype on. Without these reviews of products you and i may never know what is out there to buy!
If Jim were getting paid for this by Invicta to promote a product this would be a copyright or trademarked stamped piece for Invicta use only!
This certain watch has been a model of manys pleas to Invicta to get a classic piece with the automatic movement. If it weren't for guys like John Holbrook and others the 9937,9938, and 9939 would not exist today!
You seem to want to cause some possible disention in regards to this post and i agree with John that it will not be tolerated here. Your opinion is valued and all insight to the watch horticulture is appreciated.
I left the WUS for reasons like this and trust me i was once an instigator of disention on the Forum's!
Any further debate on this subject for response should be done via email if you would like to further discuss this matter!
Thanks Mike S Administrator

I really don't understand why anyone has anything negative to say about the analysis. It was awesome, and the photos were fantastic!
The price tag on this is what I'm most concerned about. If it goes for $1,500 - $2,000, I'm afraid it will price me out. It looks like a stunning timepiece, and it's the first time I've actually started *shaking* with desire for something like this.
Invicta = Wow. What a fabulous job on this watch.
Is there any more info on it? I looked at Tom Palmers site along with many others, but don't see any information on this watch or it's future availability. Even the Invicta site lacks details.
Dave.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for participating! As of yesterday, dealers didn't have a firm price or release date...but I keep hearing "this month." Eyal has promised to send me one of the first production examples for review, so I should know more shortly. Also, I'm sure Jim "Oompa Lupah" may well find out before anyone else on the the release date of the watch. So stay tuned!

Oompa's preview of the Invicta Speedway is a nice way to get a heads up on new models, even in the pre-production stage. This can allow us to plan our future buys.

In case no one noticed this, the model number of the new Speedway is stamped on the back of the watch and is visible in Oompa's photo.
The model number is 2684 (though this could be the model number of the movement...). Hope this helps everyone find more info on the watch.
FYI: Invicta is using Oompa's "Analysis" as their official Review at their web site (http://www.invictawatch.com/reviews/review4.html)
