I did a quick ebay check and there's a used one there that I've offered the guy 45.00 for delivered. If that doesn't pan out, I'll try to pick up one new... John

That's a good price. I think it's worth it.
I went to my mother's for a Christmas dinner yesterday and the only lens I used was my 50mm. It's very versatile and the pictures are tack-sharp.
Dave.

Ok. i've decided on the new 8926 with wing logo second hand. four quick questions before i buy: is second hand a smooth sweep or does it tick? someone mentioned that a white bezel dot may be better than green dot. why is this? the 1st pic on this thread of the 8926 does not have wing logo. is there a difference other than manufacture date and no wings? where can i get one of those (in case i want to go wingless)? thnx a lot.

The 8928 is an automatic, so the second hand will sweep, not tick like a quartz. The green vs. white dot is just a personal preference of color. All new Pro Divers (like the 8926) are shipping with the logo on the second hand - to find one without would be luck, or buying one used. Hope this helps! John

thanks a lot for the info. hey one more thing. is there a difference (in appearance only) between the winged logo 8926 and winged 9937? they look a bit different where the band connects to the case in the back, but cant really tell from the pics ive seen. is there maybe a side by side comparison of the two somewhere?

Only minor variances in what's written on the dial, and what you see inside via the display back.

Here's an update on the accuracy of my 8926. I've had it for about 2-weeks now, and it's 13 seconds fast every day.
I'm wearing it today, and the guy who sits next to me noticed it. He owns a Rolex Sub (black face) and a two tone blue-face Sub.
He thought mine was a Rolex, even after he held it in his hands for a minute. Then he noticed the Wing Logo and said "Ah!!! This is an Invicta! Man these are nice!"
I love my watch.
Dave.

when you guys say your watches are + or - X seconds, what are you comparing your watch's time to. is there some officially recognized world or U.S. time somewhere so that i could gauge my 8926's accuracy against?

Compare it to the atomic clock. You can find it by using google. Try this: www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/javaBy the way (everyone), my 8926 allows me to "hack". The sweeping second hand can be stopped by adjusting the time counter-clockwise and carefully holding it in place. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but I just used this 'feature' to set my time to the US Official Clock. Dave.

Yep, all the Miyota movement based models have allowed me to do the same thing. Sounds like you're getting reasonably good accuracy from a non-cosc certified watch too. Incidentally, I've been haunting E-bay in search of good deal on a 50mm prime...hard to find. I'm also hoping to get a Canon 580EX flash...<sigh>...too many expensive hobbies....

John,
you're just going to have to settle for a 50mm through PriceGrabber.com.
I've used Broadway Photo (www.bwayphoto.com) for my purchases and I have been very happy. Your mileage may vary, but I haven't had any problems.
A new 50mm f/1.8 is about $75 delivered. The f/1.4 is about $330 (if I recall correctly).
I'm now looking at the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 L series lens.
So...many...things...to...buy........so...little....money...
Ouch.
Dave.
