I've made my first watch purchase in 4 months and it's not an Invicta, but an Arkibos. I've watched this brand being sold on the other watch tv show for the past year or two, and have liked some of the designs and the large size. I decided to take the plunge since they were doing the anniversary thing this weekend. Anyone else own an Arkibos and what do you think of it? I bought a Swiss multifunction(I know, I know) that comes with a steel and rubber bracelet and is made to look like the Breitling chrono I'd love to own, but will never buy. It was only $139 so I figure I'd give the brand a try. I got the white dial. [/img]

Looks very nice. I do not own any; but, like you, I also like the white dial better; but, if green were the only option, I would certainly purchase it.

I have heard nothing but good things about the brand. I have no personal experience with them. Congrats on the purchase.....Have you been stationed on an outpost in Afganistan? No purchase in 4 months....I wish I could do that!

Over the summer I went on a watch buying binge of epic proportions and have been too broke to buy anything. The Akribos is going to ease me back into it. Hopefully I can resist the urge to go crazy again. Rusty, you may have to talk me down! ;D Here's the packaging. [/img]

Very nice packaging, especially for the price. BTW, what is the item in the upper left hand corner, and 1st item on the right side?

On the left is the instruction booklet, and on the right is the tool to switch bracelets.

I own two. Akribos watches are manufactured by Stuhrling. The faces and designs are great but the auto movements are not of great quality and power reserve is very short...Seiko base and Chinese parts. Overpriced in so far as quality but look great.

I jumped on the $139 deal. My first Arkibos. Bought two. One for my son. During the presentation, they talked about a famous watch that has this design. To what watch is this a homage? I was thinking Breitling?
Also during the presentation, thay said it was 48mm. The on-line description says 46mm. Anyone know which is right?

Well Rusty, I guess we'll be watch junkies together! I just hope we don't hit rock bottom, and start stealing or begging on corners to support our habit.
Glad to see I'm in good company with Kirk buying the watch. I thought it looked like a Breitling Bentley Kirk.
