Sorry to hear about your problems with this person. I just do not do business from those web sites. This is an example of what can happen. I am just happy for you that you finally got your money. =) maverick Me too Mav....me too.

While there are generally alot of good people involved in their various enthusiast circles, here specifically with watches and also from what I have seen with fountain pens I am always amazed at the amount of bad apples in the bunch...people who are often rude, arrogant, shady....
I admit that on the boards I can be an A$$ at times, and if you attack me in either PM or email I will come right back, but if I am doing buisness with someone or if it is a simple email I try to be as polite and professional as possible...
guess with life there will always be those types of people however with the high end/luxury hobbies I participate in I see more than other communities.

I guess I'm not certain what you're trying to say here Matthew.

I don't mean here specifically with this board but instead with the whole hobby...same with pens...while most who contribute seem on the up and up, there are more that don't than I would expect..possibly because a good component of these hobbies includes selling and possibly making a profit whereas other hobbies I have people are just in it for enjoyment alone as there is no money to be made or things to be sold.
hope that clears things up.

John, A very sad tale indeed. I purchased my first Rolex from Cayce about a month ago and I love it. I am now contemplating my second from him. At the time his service was excellent. He was a bit of a "showman" I was initially looking at a TT datejust and he e-mailed me back saying"12 people are asking about it and I expect it to be gone soon" Needless to say it stayed for another week. I wrote that off as general sales "shtick" I am shocked to read the string of e-mail between both of you. You post valid reasons for not dealing with him. I can not tolerate the fraud and lying. I saw your daytona picture on the site and assumed it was your daytona that was for sale! Aside from Mike's TT sub, I haven't heard of any problems with his merchandise. Maybe just a string of financial problems led to this behaviour. But the LYING is inexcusable! Some serious thinking before my next purchase! Michael

Michael I like to think I'm a pretty understanding person. Undoubtedly, Cayce had some sort of financial issues going on, and by his own admission, I was extremely patient, even after he bounced the second check on me. However, throughout the process, Cayce was less than honest on several ocassions, and I don't believe he did everything he could have to expedite getting me paid. It's the way he plays it fast and loose with the truth that I have the biggest problem with - there's just no reason for that.
