If I had $241,900 to spare, it would be the Omega Tourbillon Skeleton. Simply stunning to me

My grail watch doesn't exist.
I want an all stainless Rolex Submariner with a 44-45mm case size, 22mm lug spacing, domed saphirre crystal with interior AR coating, date magnifier in the dial, NOT stuck on top of the crystal to be chipped or popped off, a proper bracelet and clasp fitting a watch in this price range, ceramic bezel insert (with the bezel sitting 'proud' of the crystal so the crystal edges don't get chipped)- or a saphirre bezel insert cover so it is not soft aluminum and a quality rubber strap option with deployant clasp/divers extension. An optional woven stainless "mesh" bracelet as well since we are dreaming anyway, and it would look killer on the sub. The dial would have to be a 'maxi' dial, as well as the hands for increased legibility. The white gold borders reduce the lume area on the newer watches, so it has to be increased slightly. With the dial diameter increase, this should be automatic and still to the same proportions. COSC certification goes without saying, but I think this is the current policy of Rolex anyway for all new Rolex watches.
If the magnifier in the dial (which Heuer was able to do 20 years ago by the way) proves to be too much of a challenge for the minds of Rolex, perhaps a big date option would solve that. Perhaps the date could be moved from the 3:00 position as well, so that 3:00 lume area is retained, like a non-date sub. Place the large date windows over 6:00 or comething...
I know, I'm asking the world, but it has all been technically possible for about ten years now, and I'm still waiting...
The Rolex movement is fantastic, but it's only available in a Rolex watch. Their tired, dated designs need a good kick in the rear to get into the 21st century. I have even though about buying a used movement to be built into a case of my own design (and NOT made of 904L stainles- this is not the optimal material) and with all the above mentioned improvements. Do you think Rolex will supply me movements for my new watch company? Anyone else interested in one of my watches?
This is why I bought a Planet Ocean. Not becaue I wanted another Omega (*although I love the "great white" I was wearing before this one, and the Planet Ocean is as close to my grail as I can get in a currently available watch), but because Rolex will not make a modern watch.
I know; half rant, half wish list. But honestly!!!

A grail is a grail - whether you can ever achieve it or not. I never knew that! I thought a grail had to be quite a difficult task to some day pull off, but eventually obtainable... Under your definition, why did I choose Limes in an earlier post? ;D

seiko spring drive with exhibition back maybe with an open heart too in a MOP dial or some type of yellow or white gold weave or hammered copper on the case side it reads "*** Rolex" in wingdings _______ **** From Boscoe to chai: Not an accepted use of language here at WTF. Modified. Think PG, please. chaibill, What's with the hostility to Rolex? Yes, they are expensive, I can't doubt that. But you don't have to hate them do ya? Where else can you get a fully in-house built Swiss watch for under 7K (and I mean fully built under 1 roof - case, springs, hands, etc). Rolex isn't for everybody, but the quality, fit, and finish are extremely high. They are pretty much the benchmark of the watch industry after all they are the most imitated brand. I feel Rolex offers solid value as I can average the cost of them over the net 30 years (yes they run that long and look great). I've seen more then a few Seikos that were a strong homage to Rolex's Datejust lineup. I own both Seiko and Rolex, they each scratch a different itch and both are excellent.

I've wanted this one since I first saw it at the WatchTime Magazine Basel event in Chicago last year. I've tried it on twice. I even got the go-ahead form the Missus, but can't bring myself to pay the nearly $6,000 pricetag for it!
