Howdy Pals Non-COSC watches have precision tolerances of -1 to +11 secs a day. Y'all be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D Mr. Houston: -1 to +11? That is an odd range. I would have thought a few more seconds on the minus range. I guess they figure it is better to be early for an appointment than late. ;D Mr Time You fuhnee guy ;D ;D ;D Actually I would imagine and I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's better to be early than otherwise. In fact only the ladies are allowed to turn up on the -ve side of schedule Be well now pal ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

I would always prefer a watch running a few seconds fast as you only have to hack the watch to set the correct time. A watch running slow involves advancing the minute hand which is a pain

My 1861 movement is also pretty consistent regardless of position. There doesn't seem to be a resting position that will make the watch run any slower. Has anyone else found a position with this movement that slows it up at all? Face "up" seems to run almost right with the atomic clock, other positions gain a second or two per day. It's now become my favorite already.....the Bond for work, Speedy for everything else. Mike

Well Mike I find that crown down, my Speedy loses one to two seconds in the night, dial up it gains as much. Never tried crown up or indeed dial down. I'll tell the guys to cool it on the timeliness of all our better halves. ( I'm still looking for one ) Cheerio for now amigo ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

I'll try crown down tonight and see if the results are similar. Linnie says hi. She wants to go back to Marble Arch in January but I don't think it's going to work out. Mike

January is not that great a time - cold and all that. Why not later in the spring? I'd have thought that would be better. Please give Linnie my best too. Cheerio for now pals ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Hi Aaron, i fear there may be some confusion creeping in here, as there's a couple of different watches being discussed in the same thread. There have been five different Speedmasters released as 50th Anniversary models. There are three gold models (yellow, white, rose) and two stainless steel versions. The one I have in store (that you tried on) is 311.30.42.30.01.001 This is more of a "mainstream" limited edition, and priced accordingly. This one has the gold emblen on the dial. The other is 311.33.42.50.01.001. This can be spotted by a lack of gold emblem, and the addition of the limited series numbers on the dial. I believe this is the model that comes with wooden box, tools, interchangeable bands, etc. Hope that clears thing up a little - Sean
