All things being equal, not before the others find their place on my list my friend. The short list is headed by the PO and the WhiteBread GMT It's now the start of September - what's the betting that we'll have more than 2,000 hits on this thread and that it'll remain on the front page of the forum by the time the movie is released? Enjoy your week ZIN

I'm impressed with how much the PO has moved up your list Zin. Is it still the black faced/ bezel with Orange numerals that interests you?
It's encouraging that this thread has become so popular. I'm sure you're right that it will take us well into November and beyond.
Talking of Bond I was watching "View to a kill" the other night and although there were no close-up's of Moore's watch to indentify it, I'm pretty sure that because he wore a Rolex for the first 2 of his appearances and then a seiko, that this is probably a seiko.
Still no official word from Omega yet on what DC will actually be wearing. I did not get a response from them so I will try for a 2nd time.
All the best
Jonathan

Jonathan Now they've got everyone talking, do you really think they are going to spill the beans? Besides which, it may bring this thread to a premature halt or at the very least, slow it down. Cheers ZIN

I'm using other things (like the PO, etc) to try and nullify my excitement over what the new Bond watch will be. I watched "Tomorrow Never Dies" last night and I loved the way (in the opening credits) that they used the SMP to show it under x-ray, etc. Very nice way of further exploring this classic!
By the way, I'm thinking of buying the Box Set of the Ultimate Editions of the DVD's. I know that ITV4 has started showing various Bond films on there recently, but I sure would love to own the whole set.

Trouble with that set is that it includes all those cheesy movies as well. Incidentally I think you've missed a Bond film poll in the CF Cheers pal ZIN

Most of them are cheesy, big time in some cases! lol
I'll have to draw myself to the CF right now in that case!

Speaking to one of my Omega contacts today we got on to the subject of Mr. Bond and the new range of updated SMP's which are coming out in the coming months WILL have the co-axial technology in them, but naturally this will come at an inflated price of (in English pounds) between £300-400!
From the pictures that have been posted on this forum, the design of the SMP has changed a little, with a red, fancy "seamaster" logo just under the Omega logo at the top of the watch, and then the usual "Seamaster, Professional, Chronometer" this time added with "Co-Axial" and I believe the depth rating has been changed to match that of the PO.

Hey Jonathan Did your source say if the current 2254.50 and Bond would be maintained alongside their Co-Axial counterparts or would they be phased out? Presumably, you are unable to reveal your source. I know, I've seen it in the movies and on tv..... ;D ;D Cheers ZIN

He didn't really go into great detail about what the likelyhood of the current "Bond" and 2254 as they are with the 1120 calibre being phased out was. He said it was more or less open to debate because there was alot of sceptical talk going about. One thing that he did say that I remember is that because the co-axial technology is fairly new and still in its infancy and therefore comes with a 3 year Warranty as standard from Omega, he cited this as a natural but very confident flex of muscle from Omega. He seems to think that the current line of Seamasters will stay as they are with the 1120 movement, but as more Seamasters begin to be introduced with the co-axial movement as the co-ax goes on longer and longer in lifespan, this will eventually be the most popular movment on any Omega range.
I think Omega have got it all set up to know how they will want to begin proceedings. Interesting all the same I say!
My source isn't that top secret I'm afriad! He's no Jack Bauer! lol His name is Simon and watches are his passion. He actually rang me at work today to say that he could get a PO from his AD in Ireland with 20% - coming to a total of £1500. This was the same price that Matt at Watchfinder quoted me, but then again Matt did say he would find out further details to see if he could get an even better deal, so Matt might find that should he be able to do this then we may have a deal.
Good to talk again!
Jonathan

Well dear friend The Co-Axial movement has been with us since Spring/Summer 2002 I believe, earlier if you take into account the LE George Daniels DeVille chronometer. Since then of course the 2500 mvt has been developed as has been detailed on another thread. I think it's virtually perfect now. IMHO my AT's time keeping and that of my erstwhile Byzantium plus the numerous +ve reports of the PO prove it for me - but I'm a simple soul anyway. Cheers pal ZIN

This now finally looks like all the offical confirmation we need! www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=217Taken from the Omega website on the latest news section "True to the film, Bond will be wearing his reliable ally: the Seamaster Professional 300m with the exclusive automatic winding Omega Co-Axial movement. The handsome blue dial imprinted with a wave pattern looks the part in the sophisticated surroundings of a casino but, like Bond himself, the Seamaster is ready to snap into action at any moment."
