I am not digging that new Bond watch with the "look down the barrel" image and the second hand with 007. Seems way too gimmicky, doesn't it?

Well Blkdog7 With the exception of its' hhugely comfortable bracelet, I never warmed to the original one. Somehow, I couldn't get my head round the bezel, round markers and skeleton hands. The new LE for me anyway, distracts a little from my blind spots with the current one. It's not a must- have for me at any rate. There is a long wish list ahead of it. Best wishes ZIN

Hi all
Over the weekend I've finally managed to lay my eyes on the new Limited Edition James Bond SMP, and while it looks nice in the flesh, for me it doesn't replace the original SMP. The original James Bond SMP will always be the best one!
Best wishes

Hi all
From the other posts, are we looking finally a step nearer to certifying that the black faced po, on black rubber strap will be what Daniel Craig will be wearing???
The suspense is killing me! ! !

I agree Zin!
On the offical poster for Casino Royale it looks like Daniel Craig is wearing the original SMP or SMP GMT, but then again Omega could be teasing us all here!
Then on the other shots of the film with Craig in action, it does very much look like a PO on a rubber strap! If this is the case, I would go along with you in thinking that there will be two Omega's appearing in CR. One for the action scenes (like we are seeing currently with what looks like the PO) and the other for the "dressy/formal" scenes when Mr. Bond is wooing the ladies and drinking it "shaken, not stirred"!
Raise a glass and drink up Zin!
Best wishes
Jonathan

Hey Jonathan Do you think the Blue Bond is such a dressy number? It's just that I've always viewed it as a sports watch. Yes I know PB had worn it b4 under his tux and it seems to fit or at least be acceptable but I would have thought an AT or a DeVille would suit more and PB had advertised DeVilles in the past OR would having too many watches rather dilute the impact of the promotion? Just wondering Have a good weekend Cheers ZIN

Hey Zin
Good w/end?
Well, I would agree that at heart the Bond SMP does come off as a sports watch, but I would go so far to say that it could be pulled over comfortably wearing it with a suit. I think this is probably the only seamaster (alot of people may disagree) in the range that could be worn with a suit on a bracelet. I couldn't however see my 2254 getting any wrist time when I would be wearing a suit.
Best wishes
Jonathan

Hey pal Good rest of the weekend as of 9.40am yesterday. As of 9.40am today or even 2.54pm, have a good week. I dunno pal. Can't see me wearing the Bond with a black suit or could I? I don't think a 2254.50 would suit either but a dressier GMT noir is a possibility. A Seamaster Chrono of the tool-kit variety - almost certainly not. Just my humble 0.00000002c you understand. Enjoy ZIN

Yeah but he can jump over electrified fences, leap onto a speed boat, ride 30ft waves on a surfboard, drive an Aston through a mansion built out of ice which incidentally was melting, bungee jump off a 750 ft dam. I think I'll pass ;D ;D ...and stick with my AT, if that's alright ;D ;D ;D Cheers pal iZIN-san Student at the venerable EL Boscoe New Wave Skool of Horologiocal Photography using kameraz PS - Being a student at EL Boscoe's is less hairy too I think

I can forgive you for sticking with the AT Zin of course!
Class looking watch. I think it would look suited to PB but NOT Daniel Craig. Like I said, CLASS! Lol
Kind regards

Hi everybody, Here in France some pics of Casino Royale have been issued in a magazine, and it can be clearly seen that DC's watches are a black dial rubber band PO (99% big size) and a SMP (which can be seen on the teaser poster, but which model ? Maybe the new co-axial model...). As foe me, I bought a mixed of the 2 : a black PO with a steel band, until I will have money to buy the new co-axial SMP ;-) Regards

Hi Jerome 007. & Welcome to the forum!
You will of now doubt of picked up how keen so many of us are about the new Omega watch for Casino Royale.
Many thanks for your input. I would agree with you that it is most likely that DC will be sporting a black PO on rubber strap.
I myself, prefer the orange one with the orange Bezel, but then again I can't see the producers of Casino Royale fitting Bond with an orange watch! Then there would be controversey! This might work for Tom Cruise's character (Ethan Hunt) in the Mission Impossible Francise, but I think those at Omega and the producers of C R will want to stick to their roots as much as possible with look and especially colour.
Roll on the release in November
Kind regards
Jonathan
