As Uddie said, I can confirm that the Daniel Craig PO (still covered in sand and mud) and his Seamaster Co-Axial also worn in the movie are part of the Omegamania auction. Also included is Pierce Brosnans Seamaster from Tomorrow Never Dies.
So no stunt watches, Omegas, like Daniel Craig, are tough enough to do their own stunts!

Mr. Brosnan really know how to take care of his wrist watch. Compare the condition of his SMP to the condition of Craig's SMP (which he wore for only half of the film). Craig's SMP is scratched up beyond belief while Brosnan's SMP shows only moderate signs of wear. Check out the ultra high definition pictures: images.antiquorum.com/158/full/298.jpgimages.antiquorum.com/158/full/299.jpgThe on top is Brosnan's, and bottom Craig's. Another question: Why does the Seamaster 2220.80 used in Casino have a blue colored Omega logo on the dial?

Hi,
I have a 1970's Omega watch but I'm now about to purchase my first +£1000 Omega and I'm a little in the dark. Its been my lifes ambition to own a good quality Omega dive type watch. This will probably be the only time I spend around £2000 on a watch so I want to make the right choice.
I have (or had) set my heart on the Casino Royale LE PO with black strap but after reading the thread (which I have also posted on) its been described as tacky.
So I figure a 'nomal' PO with black strap, there seem to be a few different model numbers although they all look the same, do they all contain the same movement or should I look for something specific?
If I don't buy the LE I may stretch to the chronograph (thats the one with internal dials right?).
Any advice for a newbie greatly appreciated.
Sorry for posting this also on its own thread, I didn't know if this one will still get attention.

LOL!!! This thread is back!! Hi icarus001, Well, the PO is a great choice. Regarding the LE, if you like it, get it. I don't think it's tacky. I think most of the tacky comments were directed at the Casino Royale SMP LE which has the trademark Gun-Barrel logo on the dial, not the PO. The only difference on the LE PO vs. a regular PO is the second hand has the 007 logo on the counterweight side & the case back says limited edition & the number. Also, I believe the rubber strap may be slightly different. Oh, and it's more money But the points are very subtle in my opinion, vs. the SMP which is more different. Actually, I kind of like the LE PO, even if I think they could have done a better job making it more different as many have said, like a blue bezel & such. But all in all, it's a nice watch - just not that much different form the regular PO, so you'll just need to weigh if the subtle differences are worth the extra money. On the regular PO, they all have the same movement, save the chrono, which has the chrono features of course. All you're paying for from standard model to model is exterior differences, bracelet, strap, rubber, size, etc. note, there are 2 sizes of the regular PO, 42 & 45mm. That may be the difference you're seeing. Good luck. As I said, if you like the PO LE, I'd go that way. It's not tacky IMO and the orange 007 logo on the second hand lends some color to the watch. A good look. Oh, and no problem placing it in this thread. We couldn't kill this thread if we tried..... 10 months & counting....

Hi there Icarus and a very warm welcome to WTF, I don't think the Casino Royale LE PO is tacky. I was simply dissapointed at the time of the announcement that Omega hadn't done more to the watch to make it stand out as an LE. However, now I think it was the correct decision to simply add the 007 gun logo to the seconds hand. The reason for this is that the watch was used extensively in the film and took some severe punishment. (I trust you have seen the film yourself). This makes this, already, robust and reliable tool watch even more desirable IMHO. To make the watch look considerably different to the one in the film would have been a mistake. I also think that the 5007 production run is a good number to have. In the past Omega have issued 10007, for example, and called them a LE. I say go for it. You would be getting a fantastic, collectable time piece with that little bit extra to make it stand out from the crowd. Please let us know what you finally decide. As a final point of reference here are some great pictures of the LE that I found on the interweb. Rick.

This makes this, already, robust and reliable tool watch even more desirable IMHO. Thats a good point I should have made. I want a watch I can wear every day in an extremely arduous environment (I work in unpleasant parts of the world and circumstances sometimes) but will also look good when I throw a shirt on and sip JD at the bar in Barbados If it really can stand up to the abuse Bond puts it through in the movie then I reckon its a good choice for what I need.

Hey Icarus,
As a PO owner who throws pretty much everything I can at my watch I can assure you the PO is a VERY robust watch... I really can't think of a single watch in the same class that can take more "abuse" than the Planet Ocean. Many will take the same (such as the SMP's which is really just a smaller brother anyways) but none more. If you can break a PO wearing it, you almost have to do so intentionally.....
And, the brushed bracelet really stands up to abuse, scratches & such. Yes, it can show some scratches, but it is easily buffed out with a finishing pen, or any watchmaker and shows far less than a polished bracelet..

BUMP! No seriously though. Does anyone have any thoughts on the watch selection for Bond 22?
Will it stay the SMP? Will they do both the SMP and the P.O. again? P.O. on a bracelet only? I'm sure some out there are hoping for a 2254 appearance!

The referee cries "Foul " and offers in as evidence, Exhibit 1 - which clearly indicates that Mr Psykon may have been induced to bump up this thread by offer of a 100th post count thereby according him an exalted status. Only J/K guys. Don't know is the answer but it does look like the PO is a part of James Bond's special issue kit. The 2254 is being discontinued so it's highly unlike to be seen on 007's wrist. After all, attractive, effective or otherwise, it's never been part of the lineup ever since its' introduction. Cheers for now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D
