Here's the classic black dial SMP Pro that I've had for a couple of years now: Now here's the heir to the thrown....the electric blue dial SMP! Since I've got several black dial watches, I'm going ahead and selling my black dial SMP (buyer already lined up). Think I've made a mistake? Which do you like better? Best, John

I would normally think you'd miss the black SMP, but now that you have the Sea Dweller I doubt you will. My favorite SMP is still the classic "Bond". Here's mine!

Oompa - that's probably one of the top 10 watch pictures I've ever seen, and certainly the best example I've ever seen from you - kudos. Once of these days I'll get around to picking up that model....so many watches, so few wrists.... Let's see some pics of your AT too! On second thought, don't...mine is in Switerland right now being regulated and I miss her greatly.... Were you thinking you might send your SMP to Bienne? John

I have one or two other Omegas I want to buy before I ship off my "baby" to Bienne, but yes I will be doing it in the next few months. I need something that will keep me from missing her to tide me over though! The At is getting all of my wrist time so far. This is the 1st day I am wearing my SMP! I havent taken the AT off for 9 days. Here's some pics of my new obsession, but soon I plan to add a white dial GMT, and most likely a Legend is in my near future (I'll be going to Keith's dealer for the Legend) and everytime I look at the electric blue dial like yours I can't stop thinking about it. I probably try one on every other week! I'm wearing my blue dial right now as we speak. She's a beauty. Do you worry at all that having 2 blue dial SMPs would be a mistake? Is the variation between the bracelets, dial color, and hands enough to differentiate them? At the end of the day, I like them both, and like I said, the Bond is a classic...but I'm worried that having both will make for some tough "which do I wear" choices. John

That has been my exact concern, but everytime I try the electric blue on I see it as so much different from my Bond. Side by side my Bond looks much more sporty, while the other with its polished bezel seems to come off dressier (as dressy as a sport watch can be anyway).
If I get it I can then relegate the Bond to lmore casual attire and use the new one for everything. Dress, casual, everything in between. My only problem now is that the AT fits the bill for both right now, I have worn it with suits AND shorts.... nothing seems to "turn this watch off" so I may have no need for the other SMP, but yet it still pulls at me.
Sometimes I HATE this hobby obsession!!! ;D

John, it appears that you think logically about many areas of your watch collection. I remember a few months ago, when you sold your Seamaster GMT because you had just added a Rolex GMT and suddenly had two black-dialed GMTs in your collection.
I'm pointing this out because you mention now that you should sell your 2254.50 because you have too many black-dialed watches. Well, when I look at what you own, I see a variety of watches that are ALL on...bracelets.
Have you tried Omega's double-ridged rubber strap? That's what I wear on my classic 2254.50 instead of the Speedy bracelet. That rubber gives the black SeMP a totally different look, and is just what the doctor ordered for a weekend "beater". ;D

I guess I'm weird that way... I'm actually thinking about getting a nice aligator or croc strap for my AT for this winter. I think that will make the watch look REALLY dressy and help differentiate it from my other black dials. John

When like you John, I had the black SMP, I thought it was the best one around but now the electric blue 2255.80 is just such a great looker that it has become my absolute favourite. Haven't taken it off for 10 days since receiving it so I'm giving my AT a little wrist time today.
Great Site and Forum and good to see Oompa Lupah and some old friends on board.
One thing though and I am aware that we're all very new here, would you agree that the logo on the Seamaster Forum Page should feature only Seamasters and not Rolexes - no disrespect intended.
Best wishes
Weenson

Best wishes Weenson Hi Weenson, Right now, I've been focusing most on functional factors, not cosmetic ones. As I become more proficient at the the scripting which allows for modification to the site, I'll make things look MUCH different here. For instance, I'd like the color scheme for the Seamaster site to be blue or red, not Rolex green. The logo you see is a joint logo which demonstrates that these forums support both The Rolex Reference Page and The Seamaster Reference Page. Bear with me during the initial launch and subsequent, innevitable growing pains! John

Of the ones you have pictured here the AT is the prettiest. My fav is the white dialed GMT though.

Don't remind me about the white dial GMT....it may yet be my favorite Seamaster....I sold it because it didn't make sense for me to have two white dial GMTs (including my Explorer II) but gosh that's a great watch....
