Can anyone(Jeremy) advise which current readily available Ball models have both a Day and Date feature. I know the old original Engineer did but it, if I remember correctly, was only 38mm and I now prefer a 40-42mm watch. Dont need or want all kinds of fancy features just a plain watch with day and date. Was there once a Trainman model that while looking like another line of watches(Luminox) had the day/date and rotating bezel? thanks

Hey Gary,
Not sure on the models that have the day & date, but have you checked the Ball website? I know they have pictures of al the collections there, so you'd be able to see all the ones with day & date. If you click the Ball banner on the top of the forum page it'll take you to the website....

To the models already listed, I would add:
Engineer Master II Diver Engineer Hydrocarbon 'Mad Cow' Titanium EH Alligator Trainmaster Cleveland Express (Basel 07 model)
The first three are not exactly simple watches, as all have a rotating bezel of some sort. But if you're interested in Day-Date models without other features, our offering are somewhat limited.
Our chronographs will all have the Day/Date function.

Yes Jeremy that is what I am finding. While you make multiple models with other features a plain "dress" day and date doesnt seem to be available. Thinking like the Fireman but with the day feature added. Looks like Ball is heading in the direction of massive "sport" watches and that leaves collectors like me out. While the new "Cleveland" will probably fit the bill I dont want to pay all that extra money for a chronometer certification or limited edition. Just a plain, quality, simple, easy to read watch will do for me.

On the smaller side, the Engineer series offers great value. It is a 38mm model retailing around the $1,000 mark. You have the choice between the Engineer Arabic, Roman or Classic for your Day-Date fix. All are available with S/S bracelet or crocodile strap. The Engineer Roman is quite stunning at night. I agree. Great picture. The more I read, the more I become interested in one of these watches. I might just start visiting some ADs around Christmas time.

The Engineer Arabic or Classic are nice day date models. Highly legible, with anti-magnetic protection.
