I do not think it is a new model, maybe a couple of years old. However I did get it new.

That pair is a looker! Both models were released a couple years back, but due to US NRC rules, they are still new to the US. The Hydrocarbon GMT and World Timer, among other T100 watches, were finally allowed into the States in October 2006. So in effect, you USA buyers had 2 Basels last year! I do not think it is a new model, maybe a couple of years old. However I did get it new.

Jeremy: When you say finally allowed into the US, do you mean due to tritium? Is this a change? Last I was aware, was that due to NRC, which you mention, was that no tritium would be allowed for importation.

Jeremy: When you say finally allowed into the US, do you mean due to tritium? Is this a change? Last I was aware, was that due to NRC, which you mention, was that no tritium would be allowed for importation. I think this comes down to the definition of 'tritium.' Most of the time when I see 'tritium' someone is referring to the old tritium paints. To the best of my knowledge, tritium paint is still not allowed to be imported into the US. But we have not explored that, because Ball does not use the tritium paints. Gaseous Tritium Light Sources, i.e. Ball 3H tubes, fall under different regulations because they are completely encapsulated and do not give off radiation. The NRC regulates the amount of 3H allowed in each watch dial - 25mCi or 100mCi are the only licenses granted right now. Cheers, Jeremy
