Ball Watch holds a patent for the unique innovation present in this shot of the Inspector II. Anyone notice??

Don't think I've ever seen the date window on the left at 9 o'clock.

BTW, what is the double markings for on the 12, 3, & 6? Quarter hours, or every four hours, with the date at 9. A lot of watches have different markings in those positions. Makes for easier reading.

Now that is cool.
Makes you wonder why no other marque has thought about it before.
Rick.

My guess is that they put a gas tube under the date wheel and then had the date numbers allow the light to shine through.

The "Moon Glow" calendar is also used in another Ball Watch - the Engineer Master II Moon Glow The illuminated date is achieved by using a sandwich dial. The tubes are placed below a date wheel that has the numbers cut out. On the Moon Glow watch, the 12, 3 and 6 are lit in the same fashion. Finally, to improve readability, the date and numerals are enlarged with small on-dial magnifiers. Cheers, Jeremy
