Strela watch ? What is the ID number on that watch if you have it. If it is a long number, the first 4 or 5 identify the movement then 3 for case, 1 for case material and 3 more for dial. 3133 rings the bell if it is real. Russian, 23 jewels..

P3133 is Poljot's in-house P/N for their chronograph movement. Did Poljot start outsourcing to China? Anything is possible these days; really don't know...

@kw: I read on the net Poljot has some Chinese movements. But you guys are the experts. I know next to nothing about Asian/Russian movements.

Max: strela is supposed to be the model name. it means arrow in russian - but I don't see any arrows here. and the other strelas i have seen have at least one arrow second hand.

My new 23-jewel mechanical. Russian movement or Chinese? Thanks! According to a post in the Russian watch forum in WUS and the fact i have already bought a watch of the same brad this is chinese. But it's a little bit less simple: The Slava management sale licence to a chinese company which then make this a mixed of chinese design with russian like name and sometimes a slava movement copy or full chinese; The one i have bought (i don't have it anymore was full chinese and bad quality) . Now the management:owner of slava have changed and the chinese deal had been revoke/broken

Well Great Maestro it is an old post of mine on the subject but, not surprisingly...... can't find it ;D Briefly..no movements are currently produced by the First Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot), chronograph movements are farmed out to "MakTime", non-chrono engines are made by "Vostok Watch Makers, Inc" The 3133 showed in this thread by Max, a 23 jewel movement , manual winding ,43 hours of power reserve, is a modified Soviet version of the Valjoux 7734 . Hope this will help

Russian Watch history and brand name/manufacturer changes are very confusing. What makes them fun IMHO.

Here Great Maestro.....check out the players www.maktime.ru/ and of course our original Vostok I mean the "original" Russian, Boctok not to be confused with the "new" Vostok Europe...the Chinese are copying most everything these days, I have seem even couple Miyota replicas ;D . Back in 2003 Poljot reduced production considerably sold some of its assets and machinery to " Volmax" and introduced the "new" high end Golden Poljot. again farming out the movements....everything else is a copy or a "semi-legal" foggy enterprise ..a la Russia...or "From Russia with Love" have fun Hope this will confuse you less... ;D
