Guys, I am been REALLY looking to get a higher end gemstone Invicta. I REALLY like Jim's Blue Sapphire and Ruby bezel w/ meteorite dial IR as well as this Invicta Mozambique. What are your HONEST thoughts on this watch? Its got a brown MOP with over 5 carats of chocolate Mozambiques. I am not an overly excited about it ALL being gold tone, but I find it very nice though. Nonetheless, I am looking for a REALLY elegant and expensive look for my wardrobe. Thanks in advance, guys...

I'm falling all over myself trying to respond here. Topics can get old and boring around here, so for the sake of the forum, BUY THIS WATCH! There, I said it. ;D In all seriousness, if you want bling, go with all the gold this baby can offer. I'm of the opinion that if you spend the on a watch like this, you want something that will set you apart from the crowd. Beautiful thing is that you can order it and if it is too gaudy, you can always send it back. If you do order it, WE WANT PICS AND LOTS OF THEM! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Revolution. But returning it would not be an option. If I can get it at under a reasonable price under $2k, I will pull the trigger on the auction. Otherwise, I will not spend almost $3k on it though... ;D

Tough one. I'm not sure I'd be willing to spend $2k on a watch sight unseen unless I felt I could re-sell it and come out even. On the resale market, you would be competing with used Omegas, Tags, Breitlings, etc.; all of which carry more brand value than a limited edition Invicta. Selling a $300 Pro Diver is one thing, selling an ultra high-end Invicta is entirely something else.
It's a very nice watch that will garner lots of attention, but also a big gamble. If it did not work out, you could lose a lot of money trying to sell it off or it could become the $2k albatross that sits in your watch box.

That and the similar blue/red are beautiful. But, not for me considering style or price.

Cost on these stones under $100 First remember this is an Invicta, if you like it and will be pleased with this look for years to come than buy all means go for it. I caution you just due to the fact it is an Invicta which has very poor resale regardless of which model it is. This watch is just the regular pro diver Swiss made. The stones are not rare or expensive in any way. I did a little research for you and found that they can be had for a very reasonable price. Do not get caught up in the Invicta bling. Look at the many other like divers that have a good rep and think about having the bezel done in the stones you like. I have included a sample of cost of these stones used. Hope this will help. Other info: Untreated Origin: Mozambique Lot ID# DSCN-IMG7928 Thanks 60minman, the KEY would be how can I get a regular diver and have someone make a customized bezel like this one for me. I do think you're right that they are NOT the most expensive gemstones, but WHO would be able to customize my bezel with those exact sized baguette sized gemstones at a reasonable price? It would be great to do such a thing with an Omega or maybe even a Breitling but my favorite dial design is METEORITE and the ONLY company that charges a reasonable penny for it is INVICTA. Therefore, you got me REALLY thinking I would NOT mind purchasing the standard Invicta RESERVE PRO DIVER with meteorite dial with simple bezel and I WOULD LOVE to have it customized with BLACK SPINEL or BLACK DIAMOND Baguette stones or DARK GREEN EMERALD Baguette stones ALL across the bezel. ;D BUT THE MAJOR question would be, DOES anybody know who does this line of work in customizing such designs on bezels? And is it reasonably priced? Any price range? Obviously, if this is NOT cost effective, then I am back to square one.. HOPE to get some feedback from you guys about customizing a bezel in such a way and who you would recommend. Thanks in advance, especially to you "60minman" for making me realize about possibly customizing my own bezel...

I'd say buy the watch if you've got the loot and like it. But if you don't like the goldtone, that's too much money to spend. You can definitely find jewelers to customize your watch in any way you want. If you are patient, you may even find some who'll do it for a reasonable price. Avoid the very high end jewelers unless of course you are a multi-millionaire. They charge you for breathing their air I think. Check out the mom and pop stores or the stores in a nice mall. If you really want to do some searching and get grimy, check out pawn shops. jewelers are everywhere!

this one just doesnt appealto me at all- i do love invicta and have 13 of them currently, but I dont know if I am ready to commit to one for this price tag- too many other watches I would rather spend money like that on. But i would love to get my hands on that one with the half ruby/half sapphire bezel with the meteorite dial- i think only 100 were made.

Not my taste. If you want to spend $2700, you can get a SOLID gold watch, which will retain it's value. Of course, it won't be an Invicta. Otherwise, there are stainless gem-encrusted Invicta offerings (one with all blue sapphires) that will hold up better since the plating won't scratch. I'd opt for that. But my advice on this one: Don't do it! I'm not sure what's in your collection, but you can buy a used R*lex and many other fine brands - which will retain value - for the same money. This isn't a knock against Invicta. But I don't think the brand is quite in the big leagues yet - and you'll take a staggering financial hit if you ever tire of the watch and want to sell.

Who's got a solid gold watch for $2700? You can't mean with a solid gold bracelet. And if it ain't an Invicta, it sure can't be a Rolex or any of the other big league watches. Does Croton even do one for that price?

Not a bling or gemstone fan but if I were I wouldn't go for this one. Brown, chocolate and gold tone seems pretty boring as a combination on any gemstone watch. Aside from the fact that it's a ton of cash for a brand that's not considered in the same breath as other "high end" watches that are actually made by the company,I would think that the red and blue gemstone (sorry-no clue as to how to refer to it by model #) would be a better choice.

Thanks for the comments so far guys. I would have prefered it in SS, but it still very nice nonetheless.
Lets also no forget that even though Invicta is not considered a high end brand, there is no high end brand in the world that would offer a over 5 carat Mozambique bezel watch or especially a meteorite dial, Ruby and Blue Sapphires totaling over 5 carats and COSC watch anywhere near this price range. These materials on any watch such as Rolex, Breitling or Tag would probably costed easily in excess of $8K.
I LOVE the thought of the possibility of customizing one of my pro diver's bezel. Somebody here commented about a local jewelry store. But I thought for a second that they would STILL need to be VERY could at this type of thing or it could end up being a shodding job. Could be risky if they are NOT experts in this type of work? I would not mind selecting the BEST gemstones and adding them to my favorite diver. As anybody here to any customized gemstone bezel work on their watch?

There's a place in Philly that already has custom-made diamond bezels G=H VS1 for about a grand that I saw. mark: croton offered a solid gold 2836 for $2400, with solid gold bracelet. you can buy a solid gold philip auto (1 oz. 18K gold case) for about $1200
