well, I don't have the warranty card (or any of the other cards for that matter) for my PO.
This is why I want the COSC paper so bad- at leas I'll have something for it!
Unfortunately, I didn't grab the box and paperwork this morning from the "watch altar" so, no e-mail going today...
I am going to get a photo of the serial number, since we have several macroscopes here that are perfect for the task... Perhaps I'll post it later- it is VERY small!

Hey Jim It is my understanding that under normal circumstances, you will need to send a copy of digital image of the warranty card. Do you have the original bill of sale? Omega are a company that take a wider view of matters and that may well prove sufficient for your needs. Be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Jim, as long as you bought it from an AD and have the reciept I don't think you'll have any problem. If it is still in warranty(and it should be) they may be able to replace your cards for you with your AD's help possibly. i was told that was possible by Omega. i'm not sure but i think they (Omega) told me that after 3 years they would have to re-certify the watch to provide a COSC, in regards to your Great White. i have no-idea what that would entail but if you were sending in your watch for a full service it might be something to do? diver88 ;D

That's not a bad idea- have the GW re-certified COSC!
That would be an interesting conversation piece hunh? "... yeah, when I sent it in for service, I had the movement re-certified by COSC...
Worth a shot eh?

That would mean sending off the movement to the COSC folk hence more moola for the service. Is it worth the trouble or expense? Mind you I've never bothered with these pieces of paper so what do I know? I'm probably the only member who has never hankered after a COSC certificate Y'all be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

well, I blame this forum!
I had no idea I could get it, or I would have ordered mine back in 2001 when I got the great white...
Now I have a second-hand PO with no papers (besides receipt from AD) and I want something more substantial to go with it.
Not that I'd ever sell this, but it would look good framed, and make an interesting conversation piece....

hey Jim, i called Omega in New Jersey and they gave me a lot of info. they may could help with identifying the original AD or other things. they can tell you when the watch was imported into the U.S. and maybe more, if your AD is no help. diver88 ;D

So I got a reply from the last message I sent to Omega using the website. I still didn't received a reply from Maria. here is the official procedure from Omega. Something new, it cost 50$ to get the COSC certificate Now I wonder if Bienne is currently processing my request. Without having a reply from them makes it uncertain. Should I go with Omega Canada way, humm that makes me wonder. I suppose the popularity of the COSC certificate made them charge for them. It's not a lot of money, and some other high end brand do not even give you a chance to get your watch certificate. So here is the reply I received from Omega: Hello Mr. Therrien, Thank you for your interest in Omega. As per your email request below, we would be keen to assist you in obtaining a COSC Certificate. The cost for this official documentation is $50.00; however I would need the following information for you to move forward: * name of retailer where you purchased the watch * receipt of proof of purchase * model and serial number * mailing address and credit card information. Thank you kindly. Best, Ù Omega National Brand Coordinator www.omega.ch

I will try to email Maria again and see if I get more details. I would appreciate anything you find on this Mr Houston. At least we have the official procedure from Omega. They don't seem to require the plastic cards, only the serial, so mayby talktime, you'll be able to get yours.

:)unless something has changed, that is not correct. they told me the $50 charge only applied to watches out of warranty , or 2-3 years old. or 3 to 7 years or something like that for research, but only if it was out of warranty period.. i think you'll find they are provided free of charge if all documentation is in order. or they could have changed the policy? diver88 ;D

That's the reply from Omega Canada. I already sent a digital picture of all my cards and my mailing address to Maria in Bienne. I'll see what happens with that.
I wouldn't want to pay 50$ to Omega canada and receive a free certificate from Bienne the next day.

thats the problem, Bienne does not charge. i remember once someone inquired about the COSC in Brittain or New Jersey and they quoted $50 also. Bienne should not charge. i hope this is correct still yet. did i call you Jim, Marc? sorry, i don't know what my name is most of the time diver88 ;D
