I have an opportunity to acquire a 1997 vintage TT Sub w/box & papers for $4000. The watch is in near mint condition but my 2 reservations are that the more resent subs don't have the T25, which eventually goes dim. Also I like the TT clasp on the newer models. Is 4K a good deal ? I think it is, but should I try to haggle? PLMK Thanks in advance Mike

I don't THINK a 1997 model should have the T25 markings....they stopped making tritium dials long before 1997.

Condition is so important, but if it's in good shape I agree 4K is a good price. Tritium as an illuminating compound was generally outlawed circa 1998 when luminova made it's debut. As tritium has a half-life of about 12.5 years you're nearing the end of the run for usefull lume. Collectors love trit. dials but if luminosity is something you favor, perhaps a little newer version might be something to consider.

That is a good price for a mint TT Sub from that era.
It is possible to find more than a few TT models that were purchased with tritium dials after they went out of favor if they were on the back shelf for a time...

I kinda would like it to glow in the dark. I guess I'll hold out for a newer model. Especially, the more I see pics of the newer sub with the TT clasp, the more I want that one but those are like 200?+ models and would obviously command more scratch. Thanks Mike

Will the new forum replace the this one? As in this forum will be no more?
