My spell came in the form of seven letters.....D.....A....Y.....D.....A....T....E or AKA Presidential. Sadly, the price is so high, it will be out of my reach. The wife would have me committed me if I ever spent that much money on a watch, and I really do not blame her. That is some serious coin to drop on a watch. Maybe someday, I will go pre-loved. The way the economy is going, jewelers can not hang onto inventory forever.

Hey brother Jon! I agree and really relate to what you're saying here. In the freelance work I do, I see ALOT of watches from all the "top" manufactureres. I've never seen a watch from any other maker that made me want to sell any of my Rolex watches....

That's why I'm now STRONGLY considering the pre-loved market for this piece - the new prices are really too much for me to justify on a watch. Plus, my wife would have me assassinated...

I agree with that statement, I have owned many a watch from the ‘top’ tier names, while they do make desirable watches, which in many ways surpass rolex, I have rarely encountered a sports watch which has made my want to sell my Rolexes, the only watches that have tempted me to sell was the new gmt and a VC overseas…so as far as sports watches are concerned im a rolex guy, but the royal oak comes close, at least imho

Over the years i've had Omega, Oris, Tag and of course, Rolex. I'm exclusively Rolex now and can't imagine being any other way! :-)

I have ti agree with Pauleypaul, with the possible exception of substituting a D series Martin for the Strat. Although I would love to get my hands on another '76 rootbeer brown Strat.

There are quite a few other watches out there that also turns me on. Luckily, some of them are just a fraction of the cost of a Rolex. I guess I always like a little variety, I rarely wear the same watch two days in a row (unless I'm travelling).

Sorry to talk guitars but i'm exclusively Strat aswell. Tried a Les Paul, great but just not my thing. Funny how my watch and guitar obsession run paralell more or less. The relative cost issue is interesting also, my Strat full retail would have been £4299, but working in a guitar-store i got considerable discount. My most expensive Rolex thus far is the Sea-Dweller at just under £3000. Maybe i could moonlight at an AD and get staff discount! :-)

i agree, i could never be exclusively rolex, while rolex for me makes the best sports watch, they dont make the best watch, at least IMHO, but i must they are fun Over the years i've had Omega, Oris, Tag and of course, Rolex. I can't think of another watch I'd rather have on my wrist though...
