also is it as accurate as your invictas, seikos, and/or orients? if so, is it better or same, if not, how off?
pics and mini-reviews are welcomed.

My Alpha Yacht-Master is more accurate than my Seiko, Chronomat, Invicta, Tudor and Rolex.

I've had my two Alphas for about a month now, so I can't really complete the poll. I can say that my GMT loses about a minute a day and my explorer runs pretty much dead on. Together I paid $80 so based on that I have no complaints.

It will be quite a while before anyone votes 3, 4, or 5 years; I believe the company Alpha was establised in 2005.

Who knows; you are probably correct. The only mention at their web-site is: Copyright © 2005 by alpha-watch.com All Rights Reserved. Their company profile is very vague about their origin.

That normally refers to the website, not the product. From my discussions with them in the past, I was told that they did, indeed begin making watches in 1993. The market was, at the time, strictly Asian, mainly Chinese.

Bluzglide: I ain't callin' you a liar. But I find it very, very, very hard to believe your Alpha is more accurate than......
an Invicta! (LMAO!)

for me the lume dot fell off the bezel and then the lume marker at six-o-clock position fell off inside the crystal of my Sub. I've since donated it to my 9-year-old son. I'm not whining. But I'm done buying 'em.

I forgot to mention that my Alphas seem to stay wound longer than my Invictas. I'll wear a watch for a day, usually a full 24 hours or so, then change to another. The next day the Invictas I took off are spun out but the Alphas usually are still running two days later. I know I'm probably not fully winding the Invictas, but I wind all my watches to same number of times so the Alphas aren't getting any special treatment.

I know that there are ssome around who really don't like the Alpha, but for me, it is a great watch for the price, or even for 10 times the price. I am eagerly awaiting my second Alpha and if it is anything like my first one, I will be one happy camper! Mind you, I am not a newbie nor a watch ignorant person. I have been a watchmaker since 1980 and owned some of the best in the world. Rolex, Movado, Tissot, Mido, Jaeger-Lecoultre, etc., but I do like spending less than $100 to get a good, solid well regulated watch. Alpha fita that bill and then some!

A small update: My Alpha died today (or it is reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy slow) ;D. When it arrived in May it was DOA. I received the new one 2-3 weeks later, so that makes a total of almost 4 months... It still gives the correct time twice a day! ;D If you want a watch for under $100 that will run for 15 to 25 years without service, buy an Orient or a Seiko 5. Just my two yen!

Yeah, but think of the FUN you had. Anyone want to donate an Alpha for a torture test?
