Some of us buy Japan-only watches because we love the unique styles available. Some of us appreciate the value of a $300 Japan-only Seiko or Orient Star that the Swiss and German brands do not offer at this price point. For others, it's the great exclusivity usually reserved for only those that can afford an LE or limited run costing thousands of dollars in a Swiss or German LE.
Why do you seek out Japan-only watches?

Years ago Japanese watches are considered inferior but not today. In doing business with some Japanese companies, I realized that not only have they started to produce world class products, they also could sustain their business within their own domestic market. Japan only watches are fantastic buys imho.

Why do you seek out Japan-only watches? Japanese consumers expect nothing but the best from their industries. Many 'Japan only' products represent their finest and are kept exclusively for their domestic market. So I guess I would seek out Japan only watches for; 1) their quality 2) their exclusivity Cheers!

Well since my only Japanese watch (not counting a Trump and various Invicti) is a Japan-only model, I voted because I liked it and it wasn't available here. I will confess the fact that it was unavailable in America gave it a certain aura. But if I saw it at my local mall, I would've bought it - since I bought it only based on photos posted at this forum.

Why do we buy Japanese cars? We buy Japanese cars because they are the most reliable cars on the market. I am not sure that Japanese watches are any more reliable than the Swiss or German watches; just a better value at the entry level to $350 price point. BTW, I buy Japan-only watches for both their incredible quality/value ratio, and their exclusivity. I voted for exclusivity though, because I get the biggest kick out of that. I really enjoy the fact that not many people are walking around with the same unique watch that I have on, and I don't have to spend $10,000 on an RGM limited edition of only ten watches built to get that exclusivity.

I have never owned a Japanese car. Or a Japanese designed car made in Ohio, etc.

I love my Toyota's; have owned about seven in my life so far. But imagine a Japan only Toyota... what a headache. You would have to send the car back to Japan for each oil change and service!
