I would go for the Seiko. The exhibition-back almost tipped the scales to the Orient, but name brand recognition won out. (a personal battle for me on another front ;D). Anyways, since I'm spending Boscoes money ;D ;D ;D I might just get both!!!

Well after much thought and deliberation, I cast my vote for the Orient. Both watches are very nice, but the display back on the Orient clinched it for me. Also, I’d hate to be walking around in my new $3,000.00 watch and someone sees it and says “Oh, it’s just a Seiko”. We all know what a fantastic watch it is but I think that most of the non-WIS world thinks of Seiko as not much different to Casio. At least Orient has a little anonymity. bpajwhite

Dial of the grand seiko is much more eye pleasing to me---it therefore gets my vote.

Anyway, it's the display back that did it for me!

Both are gorgeous and way out of my league. I voted for the Orient - I haven't seen it before and it is just sooo elegant. The one little niggle I have with the GS range is that gothic lettering.

Thanks for voting Quoll, it's about time someone broke the tie! I own both of these watches, ............in JPEG format of course! I collect watch photos of fine watches on my computer; talk about a sick addiction! These bad boys are way out of my league as well, but it's fun to dream, and vote in these silly polls!

I voted for the GS. The exhibition back almost pulled me into the RO but the only watch I ever sold as fast as I could was an Orient I bought that was just very poorly made - turned me off to the brand and I haven't been back since. Never, ever, had any problem with a Seiko.

Never, ever, had any problem with a Seiko. I think your bad experience with an Orient was a fluke; I have never had a problem with them and find them to be just as good in quality, fit & finish as a Seiko (except for the lume). Anyway, thanks for voting and creating a tie once again! ;D

Anyway, not trying to run any Brand down - the RO sure is nice looking and has great features. Still in all, I'd prefer the GS.

I had a look at this poll when it came out and even now I can't decide, probably because neither watch moves me. So I guess I'll save all that yen which according to my currency converter is now more like $3087. Good grief, I could do a lot, indeed get a lot with that kind of money!!! Cheers pals ZIN
