The first time I ordered a watch solely out of curiosity from TV,it was the RDII I fully expected to return it but it was so different and had a certain cool factor that I kept it. (price at the time was right). Although it only gets "in house" wrist time I like it. My second curiosity purchase was a Renato Beast that I sold to an esteemed forum member after a short period of ownership. It just wasn't for me. Today I recieved # 3. The Invicta Reserve line is something that I can't see at the AD so I succumbed to curiosity and ordered a Reserve Speedway which just arrived. With the "gunmetal" finish and black/white MOP dial it looks pretty good. I like it better that the Renato-it has a more sport/casual feel to it. By far my heaviest watch at 251 grams after sizing. The bracelet is very nice but the plating on the bezel leaves a bit to be desired. The areas around the lume dots are noticeably lighter than the rest of the bezel and there is some unidentifiable "stuff" on the dots at 15-25-and 35. I managed to clean them up a bit and hopefully with wear the rest of the stuff will disappear. These are things that only a WIS would really notice but I thought that with a checklist and higher quality of QC I wouldn't see this in a reserve model. Definately not a deal breaker (esp. at the generous discount and free shipping) Here's a Quick and Dirty of the MOP which is very nicely done. Definately on another level than the standard Invictas. A keeper.

I had that same "stuff" on my bezel when it arrived. Must have been the adhesive packing. Also the Bezel Lume dots pack a punch, the clear packing tape actually had "burn" marks on it where the Lume dots touched it. Don't worry mine wiped clean nicely. I agree not your average Invicta. A whole different level. As I have said before. It could also serve as a (PPD) Personal Protection Device: ALA Brass Knuckles.lol

Congrats Foghorn on a nice pickup. The curiosity got me as well on the SS red dial version. It really is a step up from the standard Invicta. Enjoy and wear it well outside of your abode. ;D ;D

After clean up pics 1st time I had to clean a brand new watch but what're ya gonna do?? I like this one. Ya cleaned up good. Looks great. I just love that 3D looking dial/inner chapter ring. Awesome visual effect. I have not had a bad thing to say about this model (other than no half-links) Top notch work by Invicta.IMO Perhaps a new level of quality.

Nice looking, foggy. So is the Reserve worth the extra cash?

Nice looking, foggy. So is the Reserve worth the extra cash? For this particular model it was. (and not a whole lot more in this case!) Not sure if I want to have to bathe an 800.00 watch though!! ;D Definately a cut above in overall build. @ am- you're right about the half links. This ones a "tweener"- but it's closer than others!

Hey foggy. How about a comparo to the Renato. That TV place KOed my Meteorite order. But one popped up and I ordered again. What's up wit dat? I like this much better than the Renato that I sold. Dial work is superior on all counts. Case design is less "cookie cutter" Bracelet is as good. Crown and pushers are screw down and are more accessible. Subdials can actually be used for timing.(even though I don't really use them) A more "sporty/casual look. (my preference) Rotating bezel on the Speedway. Swiss Made And no gratuitous mention of the weight on the case back. Other than that they are pretty much alike
