Interesting list but not at all surprising.

Perhaps the German authorities will crack down as the swiss have with the "Swiss Made" markings on the watch... For a lot of these brands (Swiss and German made) as a WIS, we should be able to tell the good from the bad... I for one usually have a pretty good eye for the details that might slip past others. As always: Buyer beware.

Just as a point of discussion I wonder (as I don't believe I own one) Are Chinese movements that bad? How do they actually compare to other countries quality wise? Any opinions?

Just as a point of discussion I wonder (as I don't believe I own one) Are Chinese movements that bad? How do they actually compare to other countries quality wise? Any opinions? Bad? They aren't bad at all, especially given the price. But they are not generally considered at the level of the Swiss and Japanese. Nonetheless, they are gaining ground quickly. They already produce quite a few of the components we see in Swiss watches (cases, hands, bracelets) Right now most of their production goes into other's watches. What they lack are known "brands" that are fully Chinese. The most prominent is probably SeaGull. SeaGull produces full ranges of their own branded products. This includes tourbillions and all manner of complications. I've never owned one as they aren't officially distributed in the US, but by all accounts they are decent, stylish and functional. I don't know where you would go if you had a problem with it. Right now I wouldn't list them as heirloom quality. Still, where else can you get a double tourbillion watch for ~$2K? Pretty soon the Chinese will wise up and realize they they in fact produce the watches and want to brand their own to capture more of the markup chain. So, no there is nothing wrong with chinese watches. There is however something wrong with disingenuous brands claiming to be something they are not.

The movements themselves ,in many cases, aren't that bad. What ,IMO, is bad is the way companies will go the extra mile to hide the fact that they use Chinese movements. (Like putting the word Germany on the dial as opposed to "Made in Germany" or "German Made")
