Hey John,
Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. At least you have been paid and it might be a timely reminder to members to be careful of who you are dealing with.
In this era of E trade there is still something to be said for bricks and mortar dealing face to face.

Hey John, Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. At least you have been paid and it might be a timely reminder to members to be careful of who you are dealing with. In this era of E trade there is still something to be said for bricks and mortar dealing face to face. Hi Aaron, I had dealt with Cayce before, and had a level of trust with him. He'd purchased 3 watches from me before, and while I knew he was difficult to deal with and could be quite rude, I thought he was an honest person. I even let him advertise here on WTF at a discounted rate! After the bounced checks, I removed his banner - I couldn't in good conscience continue to promote a person with such poor business practices here on WTF. I had decided I wouldn't publically mention all of this until I caught him using my photos last night. When I confronted him, and he lied about it, refused to pay me for the usage of my photo, and told me to go to H-E-Double Hockey Sticks, I decided enough was enough and I was outing this guy. I just hope no one else goes through what I did!

Glad it turned out OK for you in the end John - could have been a lot more messy! Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't think I've seen or heard the end of this. I continue to get harrassing and insulting E-Mails from ye 'ole Timekeeper. Now he says I'm violating HIS copyrights by displaying a screen print of his site on mine.

At least you got paid John. I know what you had to go thru is pure BS. I know you had to put up with lies and believe me I feel for you due to a similar incident I had with someone last year, except I was the buyer. It all worked out in the long run for me also.

About a year or two ago Oleg Volk on www.thehighroad.org had a fellow steal an image (photo) from his website. He went after the guy for 'damages' and actually got some $$ out of him IIRC. The law is very clear on IP issues. You can get in touch with Oleg at www.a-human-right.com/ He might have the info on hand (case law and such) and maybe he can forward it to you or point you in the right direction. Can't hurt to fire off a few stern letters to the guy that cite the proper laws, CC it to some State Attorney General offices, and to a private attorney etc. to make it seem more 'serious' Also, I looked at preownedrolex.com a while back. I noticed some odd things with their website in general... it seems to want to put some nasty web-bugs or adware onto computers. Zone Alarm does not allow the website to load, and I think that I might have gotten the Aurora / nail adware from that site (one of a few limited possible sources of where I picked it up).

Didn't he send you a TT Sub that had problems and you had to send it back? He claims each of his watches is inspected by a "master Rolex technician" and as far as I can tell, he's a one man operation.

Forgive and move on John. The bad publicity alone is enough to straighten this one out and maybe he'll contact you and things can be worked out amicably.

I think this was really nasty, considering that you sent the watch to him before receiving any money. Breaking someone's trust under circumstances like this is unforgiveable.
Glad you got your money in the end. I still don't think the guy is a crook, maybe he was just in some kind of financial/personal trouble at that moment. Those things _could_ happen to anyone.

Sorry that you had to go through this, but I am happy you finally have your money. Also, thank you for warning us so that we know not to deal with this guy--not only was he unprofessional in his conduct towards you, but by sending you checks which bounced not just once (which could be an accident) but twice, well, that is just pure taking advantage of your good nature. Too bad there are people like this out there. We don't want people advertising on the site who are not dealing straight with members.

I understand your frustration with the situation!

But he handled the situation horribly, and was less than honest with me several times in the month it took him to pay me. I was content to remain silent about this situation and simply pull his advertising from the site, until he pulled this business by using my photo. That was simply the last straw.

Sorry to hear about your problems with this person. I just do not do business from those web sites. This is an example of what can happen. I am just happy for you that you finally got your money. =) maverick
